Get ready, noodle lovers — Hong Kong's popular noodle chain TamJai SamGor is coming to Malaysia!
The chain's first Malaysian outlet, operating under its international brand TamJai Mixian, will be opening its doors at Sunway Pyramid on 29 July.
TamJai SamGor is famous for its customisable bowls of mixian (rice noodles) served with a variety of soup bases, spice levels, and toppings.
The chain had its humble beginnings in Sham Shui Po in 1996, founded by Tam Chap Kwan (affectionately known as 'Tam Jai'; 'Sam Gor' means third brother in Cantonese).
Today, TamJai operates over 248 outlets worldwide, including 220 in Hong Kong and others in Singapore, Japan, and Australia. Malaysia will be its fourth international destination.

TamJai offers six iconic house-made soups:
– San Suan Chongqing SamGor Hot & Sour Soup
– Tangy Tomato Soup
– Ma La Hot & Numbing Soup
– Wu La Charred Pepper & Spices Soup
– Suan La Hot & Sour Soup
– Fragrant Clear Broth (which is served by default, and they also have a vegetarian version)

And it doesn't stop there — regardless of the soup you choose, you get to pick from 10 different spice levels
It ranges from Non-Spicy, all the way to TamJai Classic Hot, Double Hot, Triple Hot, and Hell Fire.
With each fully customisable bowl, you will also get to choose from a wide variety of toppings, including pork belly, prawn wontons, beef tripe, fried beancurd rolls, and more.
In Singapore, TamJai offers Tail-On Shrimp and Fish Fillet Slices as exclusive toppings — we're excited to see what special items might be available in Malaysia!
As if that's not enough, TamJai's side dishes are also delightful in their own right
Favourites include the Sliced Pork Belly with Mashed Garlic and TuFei Chicken Wingettes, both are must-orders thanks to their garlicky and cumin-spiced flavours.
If you need more convincing, TamJai SamGor was also on Michelin Hong Kong's Bib Gourmand list from 2011 to 2013, recognised by inspectors for its wallet-friendly, high-quality fare.

TamJai Mixian will be hosting a special event at Sunway Pyramid to celebrate its grand opening next Tuesday
Hong Kong celebrity couple Kevin Cheng and Grace Chan will be making a special appearance, and five lucky fans will get to meet them in person!
