We recently checked out the latest high tea offering at Hilton Kuala Lumpur at The Lounge, and it was a delightful afternoon of surprising treats
The Lounge is glamorous with comfy seating and natural sunlight pouring in from the windows. Service was friendly and prompt, and the whole space felt luxurious yet relaxed and welcoming. It's a lovely spot to unwind and catch up with your kaki.
The food spread itself was interesting and refreshing, with some twists to traditional flavours, as well as high tea staples executed at the highest level.

The high tea kicked off with Classic Tiramisu and Onde-Onde

The tiramisu was made with Kluang coffee and Mascarpone cream. It was rich, creamy, and true to its name, classic. We loved it and only wished we had ordered more!
The onde-onde dish on the other hand, took the popular kuih in a new direction — ice cream! Mixed within the pandan and coconut flavoured ice cream was mango jelly, and it was nestled on a bed of chocolate soil.
We loved how one dessert was traditional while the other felt modern and unique. It was definitely a clear sign of the great things to come.
For the savoury tier, we were treated to a selection of fish and seafood bites

On the menu was Smoked Codfish Rillettes, Laksa Mayo Crabmeat, Serunding Ikan Sable, Perak Tiger Prawn Marbled, and a Smoked Salmon Cylinder.
A standout for me was the Serunding Ikan Sable. It was an unexpected burst of flavour with a slight spicy kick that rounded off the bite nicely. In contrast, the rest of the savouries had more muted flavours that felt fresh and light.
Definitely important when there's so much variety to try in one set!

The desserts looked as beautiful as they tasted

Our favourite was the Chocolate Praline, a decadent chocolate mousse, layered with vanilla panna cotta, on a chocolate biscuit. If you love rich, dark chocolate desserts, this will be your winner too.

We were treated to bold flavours with the Pistachio Fig and Le Noir desserts.
The Pistachio Fig included locally grown fig, pistachio crème legère, and pistachio pain de genes. Le Noir was a pate à choux filled with black sesame crème and a delicate dollop of azuki paste.
We brought bites back to the office to share and these two were everyone's favourites.

Rounding out the dessert tier were the strawberry tart and blueberry cheesecake. You can't go wrong with fresh berries coupled with rich, creamy sweetness; these are definitely a crowd-pleaser. 🙂
Of course, high tea is never complete without scones and Hilton KL's English staples are exquisite

A mix of plain and raisin scones, served with clotted cream and an in-house specialty, hibiscus jam. They were delicious and the perfect size. Stuffed with generous helpings of clotted cream (my absolute fave) and the unique jam, these golden buttery bites were the highlight of the afternoon.

While there were standout dishes that we still think about today, what we loved the most was that many of the ingredients are locally sourced, and both celebrated and elevated the flavours of Malaysia
Priced at RM118 nett per person, Hilton KL's Teatime Revelry is available until 31 July, Mondays to Thursdays from 3pm to 5pm, Fridays to Sundays from 12pm to 5pm.
If you're looking for a beautiful, quiet catch-up spot in the city with a touch of class and decadence, this is where you need to be.
