Grab Malaysia is currently testing Women-Only Rides (Beta), a feature that allows women passengers to book rides with women driver-partners

For now, the feature is only available through Advance Booking, which means riders will need to schedule their trip ahead of time instead of requesting one instantly.

As the name suggests, the option is designed exclusively for women.

Only women passengers who have verified their identity and gender in the app will be able to see and use the Women-Only Rides (Beta) option.

Once verified, users can book rides for themselves or a group, as long as the passengers are women

The feature is currently being tested in the Klang Valley.

Here's how to book a Women-Only Ride:

  1. Enter your pickup and drop-off location in the Grab app.

Since rides need to be matched with women drivers, scheduling ahead helps the system assign an available driver-partner.

Don't see the option? You may need to verify your profile first.

To verify:

  • Declare your gender in your Grab profile.
  • Verify your identity through the app's verification process.

Grab notes that verification may take up to three working days. Once approved, the Women-Only Rides (Beta) option should appear in the ride selection menu.

Like many new features, this one is being rolled out as a beta test, which means it may still evolve depending on user feedback and demand

For now, women in the Klang Valley can try it out by scheduling a ride in advance, potentially offering another option for those who prefer women drivers for their journeys.
