A 26-year-old former Mat Rempit who was once mocked and looked down on is now earning a five-figure monthly income as a motor content creator on TikTok
Muhammad Khairul Khairuddin, better known as Khairul ACQ among his followers, said his life today is a stark contrast to his past.
"Back then, many people looked down on me and insulted me by calling me a 'mat rempit' and 'society's trash'," he told Harian Metro.
"But now, I'm grateful that I've been able to change and can share my rezeki with those in need."
Khairul admitted he was deeply involved in illegal street racing during his teenage years, but eventually decided to leave that life behind
He said the turning point came in 2017, when he started creating motorcycle-related content on TikTok.
Over the past three years, he has become more active in content creation, gaining trust from companies and agencies that not only collaborate with him but also invite him to motor-related events.
According to Khairul, social media played a major role in changing his life, from being unemployed and directionless to building a stable income.
He now earns a five-figure monthly income through his work as a content creator and influencer.

Khairul shared that he had previously pursued a Diploma in Business Management at Ungku Omar Polytechnic in Ipoh, Perak, but dropped out in his fourth semester
"My parents were disappointed, especially when they saw that I wasn't doing anything after quitting my studies. At that time, I was very rebellious and spent my time racing without any direction," he said.
"But I started thinking about changing when I got into social media and realised there was an opportunity to earn income in the motor world, if you do it the right way."
He began using his existing skills to modify motorcycles, which he then showcased on his social media platforms.
As the youngest of three siblings, Khairul said his efforts eventually paid off, motivating him to continue earning through content creation even without owning a workshop.
"At the same time, I kept uploading motor-related videos on TikTok and even received paid offers to promote events and a local kurta brand," he said.
"I'm very grateful. In the past, my parents weren't confident in me, but now they support me whenever I want to join motor-related programmes."
He added that his parents now constantly pray for his success, which motivates him further, along with his wife and their 2-year-old child
Originally from Kuala Kangsar, Khairul currently resides in Padang Rengas, Perak.
