'Project Blue Dot' is a nationwide initiative aimed at improving awareness, screening, and support towards prostate cancer for Malaysian men, especially those in the B40 group and high-risk categories.

The partnership was formalised through a memorandum of understanding signed by Chong Yeow Siang, Chief Operating Officer of BIG CARiNG Group, Dato' Dr Prakash Rao, President of RCKL, and Dato' Dr Saunthari Somasundaram, President of NCSM.

As part of the collaboration, Project Blue Dot will provide 3,000 free prostate cancer screenings for Malaysian men aged 45 and above

Screenings will be available at selected BIG and CARiNG Pharmacy outlets in the Klang Valley from 15 November 2025 to 11 January 2026.

RCKL will subsidise the Prostate-Specific Antigen (PSA) tests and manage follow-up care, while NCSM oversees the clinical team, screening process, and lab analysis.

This initiative hopes to normalise discussions about men's health and reduce the stigma surrounding prostate issues

"Getting screened is not a sign of weakness, it is a responsible act of strength. When communities talk openly, more men step forward," said Dato' Dr Prakash Rao, President of RCKL.

Clinical Oncologist and Project Lead Dr Malwinder Singh Sandhu added that the initiative goes beyond screenings, ensuring that men with high PSA results receive proper follow-up care and treatment access.

Through partnerships with Pantai Hospital Kuala Lumpur and Prince Court Medical Centre, men with elevated PSA levels can receive free urologist consultations and subsidised diagnostic procedures, including biopsies and PET PSMA scans.

Beyond free screenings, Project Blue Dot also aims to reach two million Malaysian men with educational and awareness efforts

The campaign will focus on normalising conversations about prostate health and building a "Prostate Warriors" support community for survivors and their families.

BIG CARiNG Group's Chief Operating Officer Chong Yeow Siang said pharmacies play a vital role in bridging access to preventive healthcare.

"Pharmacies are often where Malaysians first turn when something feels off. By offering screenings at our outlets, we make early detection accessible, affordable, and convenient," he said.

During the launch event, there was also a panel discussion titled "The Turning 40s Wake-Up Call: Starting Conversations About Prostate Health Early"

The session emphasised how early conversations and community support can bridge the gap between awareness and action among men.

Men aged 45 and above, especially those from B40 communities or with a family history of prostate cancer, are encouraged to register for free screenings through participating pharmacies.
