8 Sketches That Led To Some Of Malaysia’s Most Epic Ideas

When it comes to putting thoughts down on paper, we Malaysians are quite the fan as well:

1. The myBurgerLab geeks draw up new burgers even at 1.30am

A fan of [myBurgerLab's](http://says.com/my/lifestyle/things-you-probably-didn-t-know-about-myburgerlab) The Hulk? This green monster, brainchild of geek Lim Huey May, was sketched during a burst of inspiration in the wee hours of one January morning.

So that's a juicy patty topped with fried avocado, fried egg, Swiss Cheese, green salsa, and kombu mayo, sandwiched between two fluffy charcoal buns. Is it any wonder this green-tinged burger has earned a cult-like following?

2. Samantha Lee and her refreshing take on happy meals

Part of the fun of this [ultra-creative mom's](http://says.com/my/lifestyle/samantha-lee) adorable edible art for her children is seeing how she comes up with ideas for her next colourful platter!

The attention to detail is so fine, it's hard to imagine that these adorable Catwoman and Harry Potter (Hedwig included!) figures are essentially a mix of strategically-placed rice balls, seaweed, cheese, and vegetables.

3. Delwin Cheah's intricate jungle scribbles that have caught the world's attention

4. The makers of the highest-grossing film in the country started with these astounding set design sketches

Polis Evo, Malaysia's highest-grossing film thus far, drew inspiration from the first Bad Boys film. The action comedy flick has been lauded for its on-point cinematography, effective acting, and gorgeous sets.

5. Pestle & Mortar's Penang boutique, a cool fusion of old-school charms and the modern-world glam

Plans to expand this hipster-friendly clothing line to the North started with some sketches in July this year, and so began the plans to meld the unparalleled beauty of Peranakan architecture and the practicality of modern interior design.

Opening its doors to excited Pestle & Mortar fans in the north in October 2015, the Penang store is just an Instagram shot waiting to happen, from its classic tiles to the creatively-lit displays.

6. Graffiti maestro Fakhrul Akmal's inspiring call to do great things

Known in the graffiti circle as mile09, this artist with his semi-wildstyle works of art finds comfort in his daily routine: sketching his latest designs at the neighbourhood *mamak*.

When it comes to pursuing dreams, Akmal believes in never giving up, as "Everybody has their own path, everyone has their own potential."

7. The day the Rock Queen of Malaysia's wardrobe took a demure turn

Rock goddesses dream of white wedding dresses too, and that's exactly what fashion designer Syaiful Baharim sketched for Ella, complete with intricate beading and a pleated chiffon bottom.

8. Red Hong Yi's careful plotting and planning to unleash a masterpiece made out of photocopied feathers

The artist who "[paints without a paintbrush](http://says.com/my/lifestyle/photos-it-s-really-crazy-how-hong-yi-created-this-out-of-20-000-teabags)" is famed for using everyday items in bulk to create some of the world' most mind-blowing art, from Jay Chou's portrait made from coffee cup stains to the ambitious plan to create a majestic installation out of photocopies of feathers.

With a large supply of everyday office stationery, the installation was bound together and stood at a staggering size of 6 x 15 meters.
