PMB United, Pelaburan MARA Berhad's Sports & Recreational Club, recently hosted its 23rd Inter-Unit Trust Bowling Tournament

Taking place at Wangsa Bowl in Wangsa Walk, the event brought together 124 participants from 31 teams, including those from unit trust companies, asset management firms, and six media teams, all competing in high spirits.

The goal? Simply to build relationships beyond work, according to Mohd Adzhar Abdul Hamed, COO of Pelaburan MARA Berhad.

"This tournament is more than just a sporting event, it reflects our industry's commitment to building meaningful relationships, promoting work-life balance, and strengthening a cohesive professional community.

"It provides a valuable platform for us to step away from our daily responsibilities and connect with colleagues and partners in a relaxed, spirited environment. The bonds we strengthen here today contribute to a more collaborative and resilient unit trust industry," he said. 

In attendance were Mahdzir Othman, Group Chief Executive Officer of Pelaburan MARA Berhad; Hang Tuah Amin Tajudin, Chief Executive Officer of PMB Investment Berhad; Taha Rusydi Mohd Nazri, Head of Strategic Communications, Pelaburan MARA Berhad; and Mohd Isyazwan Fauzi, President of PMB United.

The tournament was also sponsored by Phillip Capital, Zaibi Motor, City University Malaysia, Maybank Investment, TA Securities, BIMB Securities, Kenanga Investment, AmanahRaya Trustees, Hong Leong Investment, and other members of the Pelaburan MARA Group.

Group winners

  • Overall team champion: Team CIMB XXX03 with 2,020 pinfalls
  • First runner-up: Team SME Bank B with 2,005 pinfalls
  • Third place: Team CIMB XXX01 with 2,004 pinfalls

Individual winners

  • Men's category: Anuar Bin Jasmin (Team RHB Bowlers) with 569 pinfalls
  • Women's category: Rosnani Binti Daud (Pelaburan MARA Berhad) with 600 pinfalls

Masuk TV Bowlers (TV3 Media Prima) rolled their way to the top as champions with 1,713 pinfalls, followed closely by NST Sharper Bowl (New Straits Times) as 1st runner-up with 1,615 pinfalls and Golek Squad (Malaysia Gazette) as 2nd runner-up with 1,320 pinfalls.

Other teams gave it their all as well, with Utusan Malaysia (Media Mulia) scoring 1,260 pinfalls, Rev Team (Rev Media Bhd) 1,243 pinfalls, and Flash Squad (Malaysia Gazette) 1057 pinfalls.
