You must've heard by now that the authorities in several French cities – including Cannes and Nice – have seen it fit to enforce a ban against the burkini due to its supposed "link" to Islamic extremism
The burkini, a swimsuit designed in accordance with Islamic traditions of modest dress, was banned by the mayor of Cannes in August 2016. Subsequently, at least 20 other French towns – including Nice – joined in the ban.
As a result, women were issued fines by authorities while some were verbally attacked by bystanders when they were confronted by the police over their outfits. Beachgoers wearing modest attire were also affected, with one woman recently being [forced to remove her clothing](http://says.com/my/news/a-muslim-woman-was-forced-to-strip-by-armed-french-police-on-a-public-beach) on a beach in Nice.

Seriously, France? Off the top of my head, I can think of more than a few ridiculous swimsuits that shouldn't be seen nor allowed in public for non-religious reasons i.e. possible retinal scarring and emotional trauma. For example:
