If you've ever uploaded a carousel on Instagram only to realise the flow is completely off, there's finally some good news
The app is rolling out a long-awaited update that lets you rearrange your carousel posts even after they've been published.
According to Instagram CEO Adam Mosseri, users can now long-press and drag photos or videos within a carousel to reorder them.
This means you can tweak your post layout anytime, whether you made a mistake, changed your mind, or just want a better storytelling flow.
Previously, the only way to fix a messy carousel was to delete the entire post and start over (along with losing all your likes and comments… painful)
Now, you can simply edit the sequence without wiping your post off the grid.

There's a bit of a catch though. While you can rearrange the order and even remove photos or videos after posting, you still can't add new media to an existing carousel.
So if you forgot to include that one perfect shot, you'll still need to live without it (or repost).
