This app now allows users to access several key messaging features directly from their wrist, without needing to reach for their iPhone.

According to the company, the app provides an improved experience, allowing users to scroll through more of their chat history and view messages in their entirety.

Beyond just reading, users can send replies directly from the Apple Watch, and emoji reactions are also supported.

In addition to text and emojis, users can also record and send voice messages.

However, it's worth noting a current limitation: while you can respond to existing chats, this version of the app does not seem to allow users to initiate entirely new conversations

While the current feature set is somewhat limited, WhatsApp promises it is working to add more functionality soon.

The app is available for Apple Watch Series 4 and newer models with watchOS 10 or later, as long as they're paired with an iPhone that has the latest version of WhatsApp.

Other features include call notifications, allowing the user to see who is calling, and WhatsApp also mentions "clearer images and stickers" as perks. As usual, the company assures users that personal messages and calls remain private with end-to-end encryption.
