An unemployed man from the US is selling advertising space on his toilet bowl in an ambitious attempt to make USD 1 million (RM3.95 million)
Nick Greenawalt's venture involves turning the most private room in his house into a public billboard through the clever use of projection-mapping.
The Philadelphia-based man started selling adverts on his toilet after joking about being jobless.
Greenawalt is currently on a quest to reach a massive financial milestone.
"Unemployment final boss trying to make $1,000,000 from my toilet," his social media bio reads.
What began as a quirky Internet stunt has attracted a long list of household names. Renowned brands such as Clorox, Microsoft Teams, and MiraLAX have already been featured on the ceramic throne.
Tech and crypto firms are also seeing the viral potential. MoonPay shared that it advertised on the toilet bowl for just 0.05% of its annual marketing budget.
"24 hours ago, we advertised MoonPay on a stranger's toilet bowl," the firm stated. The post noted it gained 1,000 new followers and over one million views to date.
The engagement numbers for this 'creative' concept are staggering. One of the videos amassed over 40 million views, while another reached nearly 13 million.
"You are a f***ing inspiration for all creatives here," one follower commented.
Another added that they hope Greenawalt reaches his million-dollar goal and exceeds it.
It shows that Greenawalt has proven a bold idea can break through the digital noise. Whether it is art or just a smart hustle, the brands are certainly lining up.
