PROTON has officially expanded its flagship SUV lineup with the introduction of the Proton X70 Sport Edition (SE), a specially enhanced version of the popular C-segment vehicle
Launched on Thursday, 16 April, this exclusive edition is designed for drivers seeking a more assertive aesthetic and refined interior, without sacrificing the core comfort for which the X70 is known.
The Sport Edition is strictly limited to 600 units and is based on the existing Premium variant.
Finished exclusively in Quartz Black, the vehicle features 10 distinct upgrades that provide RM6,000 worth of added value to prospective buyers.
The exterior adopts a bolder stance through a comprehensive aerokit — comprising front, side, and rear skirts — paired with 19-inch black alloy wheels and unique Sport Edition badging.
Inside the cabin, the premium atmosphere is heightened by red stitching on the steering wheel, armrests, and seats
The seats also feature embroidered Sport Edition logos to distinguish the model's interior further.
For added daily convenience, the package includes a bespoke boot tray.
Under the bonnet, the SUV retains the proven 1.5TD i-GT 4-cylinder engine, which is paired with a 7-speed Dual Clutch Transmission to balance responsiveness with fuel efficiency.
Technology remains a central focus of the driving experience, featuring a 12.3-inch infotainment unit compatible with Wireless Apple CarPlay and Android Auto
The vehicle also utilises the "Hi PROTON" voice command system and the PROTON Link 2.0 app for digital connectivity.
Safety is bolstered by a Level 2 Advanced Driver Assistance System (ADAS), which includes 13 individual features such as Lane Keep Assist, Intelligent Cruise Control, and Autonomous Emergency Braking.
The Proton X70 Sport Edition is priced starting from RM112,800 in Peninsular Malaysia
This reflects the 1.5TD Premium base price plus a RM2,500 Sport Edition package.
Every purchase includes an exclusive Launch Package featuring a five-year unlimited mileage warranty, overtrade support of up to RM2,000 for customers trading in their existing vehicles, six free labour services, a five-year data package, and more.
