The next generation of Pokémon might be set in a region resembling Southeast Asia

A massive new leak has allegedly revealed the titles and core concepts for the franchise's 10th generation, pointing towards a region inspired by Southeast Asia.

According to Vice, the leak suggested the upcoming titles for the Nintendo Switch 2 are tentatively titled Pokémon Winds and Pokémon Waves.

This information came from a user who allegedly breached The Pokémon Company's servers, lending credibility to the rumours.

Adding to the excitement, the new region is said to feature a major city similar to Kuala Lumpur

The main story reportedly centres on a 13-year-old protagonist who wins a vacation, starting their journey in a bustling metropolis instead of a small town.

A key theme for the new generation is said to be 'Infinity'. This apparently relates to a groundbreaking feature where the game will procedurally generate new islands, making the region technically endless and ever-changing.

The upcoming Pokémon games will also reportedly introduce a jungle environment for the first time in the series

According to the leak, survival in the jungle will be one of the adventure's main themes, offering a fresh challenge for trainers.

The villains are rumoured to be a corporation aiming to destroy the natural landscape for profit.

They will oppose the region's Pokémon Professor, who studies the impact of Pokémon on the local climate and environment.

The leak also detailed new gameplay mechanics. A battle feature called 'Weather Effects' will supposedly allow Pokémon to harness different nature-based power-ups, changing up battle strategies.

Another new concept is 'Seed Pokémon', a special type of baby Pokémon that is a pre-evolution of existing species. These Pokémon are said to have 'infinite variations' in their evolved forms, depending on which island they evolve on.

While the leak appeared credible and has been seemingly confirmed by other well-known insiders, it is important to remember that this information is not yet official. As the details originated from older documents, plans could change before the final release.
