Singaporean Startup Secures Funding To Make AI Screening The New Normal For Hiring In Asia

Hiring in Asia might be getting a major upgrade, thanks to Singapore-based startup, ourteam
Impressively, the company just secured pre-seed funding led by First Move, with support from Silicon Valley angel investors.
Their goal is to make AI-powered screening the default for recruiters across Asia, helping companies interview every candidate fairly, consistently, and faster.

Across Asia, a single job opening can attract hundreds of applicants, overwhelming recruiters and stretching time-to-hire. Traditional screening remains heavily manual, leading to inconsistent evaluations and missed opportunities.
According to ourteam's research, companies receive over 70 candidates per role, but only interview three and hire one, with hiring often taking more than a month. By automating the screening process, the company helps recruiters save time, while ensuring no qualified candidate slips through the cracks.
To solve this issue, ourteam's AI interviewer does adaptive, human-like video interviews in five to 20 minutes, with the system available in English, Bahasa Indonesia, and Vietnamese.

It evaluates candidates based on skills, experience, and fit, producing structured summaries and requirement checks for recruiters. It also offers enterprise-ready dashboards, multilingual support, and data protection that meets PDPA and GDPR standards.
Each candidate receives a fair, multilingual experience and recruiters get clear, comparable insights within hours instead of weeks. So far, companies using the platform have seen up to 70% faster shortlists and 50% less screening time.

ourteam recently joined the GenAI Fund FastTrack AI Accelerator, supported by the NVIDIA Inception Programme, which helps high-potential AI startups with GPU access, enterprise collaborations, and investor support
It has also partnered with PayGap Asia to promote pay transparency and AI-enabled workforce equity, furthering its goal of fair and data-driven hiring.
Early adopters of ourteam include Prenetics, SenangPay, 42KL, Decube, and Arysun, with ongoing pilot programmes in Malaysia and Vietnam.
With fresh funding in hand, the company plans to deepen its AI capabilities and expand across Asia, redefining what efficient, bias-free hiring could look like in the region.
