The Road Transport Department (JPJ) has announced that Malaysians will be required to use their MyDigital ID to log into the MyJPJ app starting 1 May 2026
JPJ Director-General Datuk Aedy Fadly Ramli said the change is part of the government's wider public service digitalisation agenda.
The move will allow users to access services through a secure identity.
Aedy Fadly also said this authentication method will reduce the need for multiple login credentials, besides minimising data security risks for the app's 14 million users.

The latest version of the app now includes a guest mode for limited access without logging in. It also features a 24-hour smart chatbot to assist with user enquiries.
JPJ has also integrated the JPJeBid and JPJeQ services into a single platform.
This creates a more streamlined experience for those checking their licences or motor vehicle status.
JPJ encouraged all users aged 12 and above to activate their MyDigital ID before the full rollout
This ensures they can continue using the app's variety of digital services.
For MyPR holders, the existing login method remains available.
They can still access their accounts through current alternative channels without switching to the new identity system.
