Maybank has confirmed that some services on its MAE app experienced outages today, 8 September

"How to have lunch like this, Maybank? The MAE app is experiencing problems," a customer asked the bank on X.

In a reply at 5.02pm today, Maybank urged users to visit the Maybank2u website to carry out transactions by using SMS TAC.

"We are working to restore the affected services as quickly as possible. Your patience is greatly appreciated," it said.

Around the same time, Maybank announced that the main functions of its MAE application had been restored

"Thank you for your patience. We deeply regret any inconvenience caused.

"For your information, the main functions of the MAE application are now available, while some other services are still temporarily unavailable," the bank said in a reply on X.

Earlier today, several features on the MAE app, including bill payments and money transfers, experienced disruptions

However, essential services, such as checking account balances, transferring funds to your own or others' accounts, DuitNow, and Scan & Pay transactions, remained accessible during this period.

In a notice within the MAE app, Maybank informed users that temporary transaction limits may be imposed during the recovery period.

Users were advised to check Maybank's official channels for updates and to use the bank's official website as an alternative until services are fully restored.
