Lumi News has unveiled 'Lumi News Wrapped 2025', giving users their very first "news personality" alongside a recap of their year in news
The news aggregator app said the feature turns a user's daily news scroll into a playful snapshot of their reading habits, connecting them to the nation's biggest headlines of the year.
It described the personalised experience as "the ultimate year-end wrap-up that proves news reading is anything but a solo activity".
Users will receive customised stats, including how long they've been on Lumi, total articles read, top categories, favourite publishers, and the number of notifications and News Stacks opened
Depending on their behaviour, they could be a News Connoisseur, News Ghoster, Video Buff, News Lurker, Speed Reader, or Notification Tapper.
Meanwhile, based on their favourite topics, the app will also assign users to one of 13 distinct personalities, namely the Political Pundit, Global Gazer, Vigilant Netizen, Market Maverick, Wealth Watcher, Innovation Einstein, Tech Geek, Culture Creature, Paparazzi Pro, Sports Superfan, Wellness Warrior, Academic Ace, and Opinion Buff.
Users can even update their profile picture to reflect their personality and show it off!
Lumi News hopes this will encourage users to share their reading personas and badges with friends, sparking conversations and some friendly flexing.
To round out the experience, 'Lumi News Wrapped 2025' will also look back at major national moments and standout events from the year
The app itself has continued to see steady growth in 2025, recording over 620,000 downloads, 48,000 monthly active app users, and 300,000 monthly web users.
The platform has also made headlines as Southeast Asia's first news app to introduce Bionic Reading — an award-winning Swiss technology to help reading and focus — and launched Lumi AI to help improve users' understanding of trending topics better.
