HP has been on a roll recently, pushing out laptops that blur the lines between sleek consumer devices and serious productivity machines.

The OmniBook X Flip 14, priced at RM5,599, is one of the latest to arrive on our shores, and it brings something refreshing to the table: the choice of Intel Core Ultra 7 processor

This choice makes all the difference.

The OmniBook X Flip 14 doesn't scream "look at me" the way a flashy gaming laptop might, but it oozes quiet confidence.

Wrapped in a solid aluminium chassis, it feels sturdy and professional.

Portability is decent too. Being lightweight, it's compact enough to slip into most bags, though the 2-in-1 hinge does add a little heft compared to a standard clamshell laptop.

The laptop is also pairable with HP's HyperX Cloud III Wireless headphones, perfect for gaming.

The wireless headphones feature up to 120 hours of battery-life and comes built with HyperX's signature comfort and durability, making it ideal for long sessions.

What really stands out is the 2K touchscreen display. It's vibrant, sharp, and buttery smooth. Watching videos, scrolling through social feeds, or even just staring at a blank Word document looks gorgeous here.

With support for pen input and a versatile 360° hinge, you have a device that can handle Netflix binges, note-taking, or cramped-flight productivity equally well.

Under the hood, HP has gone with Intel Core Ultra 7 processor, paired with Intel Arc integrated graphics. In day-to-day use, the laptop breezes through multiple browser tabs, video calls, Photoshop, and even some light gaming.

That said, the HP OmniBook X Flip 14 has certain quirks that may not appeal to everyone

For example, the USB-C ports are all on the same side, which isn't ideal if you're juggling chargers and peripherals.

The reflective display, while gorgeous indoors, can be a little challenging under strong lighting.

Battery life is good but not outstanding. Expect around 23 hours of mixed use before reaching for the charger.

There are also a few quirks with the convertible design. Occasionally, the laptop didn't switch smoothly between tablet and laptop modes, defaulting to Windows' stripped-down tablet UI until the hinge was wiggled back into place. Not a deal-breaker, but worth noting.

Finally, while facial recognition is convenient, the absence of a fingerprint reader feels like a missed opportunity, especially on a laptop at this price.

Despite these quirks, the HP OmniBook X Flip 14 shines where it matters most

You're getting a premium build, a gorgeous OLED display, and Intel-powered performance that makes it feel faster and more capable than many similarly priced rivals.

If you want a laptop that doubles as a tablet, handles hybrid work smoothly, and has enough grunt for light gaming or creative workloads, this one's a winner. Students, professionals, and anyone who values flexibility will find plenty to love here.

The OmniBook X Flip 14 is one of the best all-round premium 2-in-1s you can buy right now in Malaysia.
