Noticed a little change in your Grab app? In case you missed it, the super app has officially rebranded GrabRewards to GrabCoins!
This change was made to give users a smarter, more seamless way to enjoy savings through their everyday activities on the Grab app.
The refreshed loyalty programme builds on the same idea, but with even more ways to earn GrabCoins (and in turn, savings) through your everyday actions.
The best part? There are now so many more ways to earn GrabCoins.
What used to be limited to food orders or rides has expanded to include nearly every action you take on the Grab app.
Users can earn 5% back in GrabCoins when ordering Grab Signatures, or when buying breakfast and teatime specials. Those dining out can also earn 150 GrabCoins just by booking a table through Grab Dine Out.
Online shopping just got better too! Shop from Health & Beauty stores on GrabMart and enjoy 5% back in GrabCoins. If you're using PayLater by Grab, you'll get 200 GrabCoins every time you shop online. Not only that, earn up to 1x GrabCoins at Jaya Grocer store when you pay with GX Card or GrabPay Wallet.
Grab is not forgetting its loyal riders either. Users can earn 5% back in GrabCoins on Advance Booking rides, and the same when choosing Premium or Exec rides. Meanwhile, GrabUnlimited members can enjoy more — earning up to 5x GrabCoins on rides.
Earning is only half the fun, as the new GrabCoins system also makes redeeming for savings even more convenient
Now, instead of waiting to reach a certain number of GrabRewards, you can use your GrabCoins instantly at checkout on GrabFood or GrabMart. Just tap the toggle, and you'll see your discounts applied right away.
Already have GrabRewards? Don't fret, all your existing GrabRewards have automatically been converted to GrabCoins at a 1:1 ratio, so you won't lose any of them. On top of that, it's even easier to see the value of your GrabCoins, where 15 GrabCoins ≈ RM0.10 (or roughly RM1 ≈ 150 GrabCoins).
Last but not least, GrabCoins now come with a six-month validity period
Don't worry, any GrabCoins that you have this year will only expire on 31 July 2026, and only GrabCoins that are earned in 2026 will follow the six-month validity period.
But that just means you should use your GrabCoins regularly to treat yourself every now and then, hehe.
