X has released its standalone messaging app, XChat, but only on the iOS App Store for now
The platform arrived nearly one year after its initial rebranding under the new name on 24 April.
The rollout marks the full release of Elon Musk's overhauled messaging platform, with plans for an Android release sometime in the near future.
The app emphasises user privacy, offering end-to-end encryption and zero user tracking.
The app also promises an ad-free experience, along with privacy tools such as the ability to hide photos from recipients after they were sent.

However, the launch comes at a cost, as X is currently axing its Communities feature to make way for XChat
Nikita Bier, the Head of Product at X, confirmed that the feature saw minimal traction, according to Mashable.
Only 0.4% of users ever engaged with it. Bier claimed many users in Communities were simply "user-acquisition channels" for other platforms.
Communities will officially be shuttered on 30 May. XChat will instead focus on large-scale group chats.
These are currently capped at 350 users, with plans to expand this limit to 1,000.
