54% Of Malaysian Parents Plan To Use AI Tools To Tell Their Children Bedtime Stories

According to a survey conducted by the Kaspersky market research centre, 81% of respondents believe digitalisation will fundamentally change family bonding within 10 years

The survey, conducted in November 2025, involved 3,000 individuals from 15 countries, including Malaysia.

For many, screen time is becoming the new family dinner table, offering both novel rituals and high-tech challenges.

Nearly half of the respondents envisioned AI-powered bedtime stories as the new normal.

In Malaysia, 54% of parents are open to letting AI-narrated tales with customisable characters entertain their children

Meanwhile, 42% of Malaysian respondents also expect home robots to become genuine family members.

Meanwhile, 31% of families worldwide anticipate children opting for digital pets over living ones.

Around 56% of Malaysians believe video call parties will be a standard practice, while 26% expressed willingness to take family vacations entirely in virtual reality

Security remains a priority as these devices enter the home.

Chee Choon Hong, the Head of Consumer Channel for APAC at Kaspersky, said digital safety must keep pace with growing convenience.

Chee recommended using tools like Kaspersky Safe Kids to balance screen time and restrict content, saying parents should treat these AI interactions as a new digital playground that requires open dialogue and supervision.
