CONFIRMED: ‘Train To Busan’ Will Have A Sequel!

Following the incredible success of South Korea's "Train to Busan," protagonist Gong Yoo, who is behind the blockbuster hit, revealed a very exciting news to their fans!

Through a tweet on Tuesday, Gong, who played fund manager Seok Woo, said, **"And there will be a sequel of Train to Busan. For you all."** However, it is unclear if Gong's character will be revived in the next film said in a report of [Inquirer.](http://entertainment.inquirer.net/201523/train-to-busan-sequel-coming-soon)

According to K-pop news site Soompi, Gong pitched a heroic storyline to film director Yeon Sang-Ho, wherein his character will continue to live as a zombie

However, Yeon begged to differ, saying that Seok has perished from the scene after he broke his neck while jumping off the train.

"I talked about this with Director Yeon Sang Ho, and I said that I thought my character Seok Woo might be living somewhere as a zombie," he told Sports Chosun, cited by Soompi.

Instead, they brainstormed that Ma Dong Seok's character, Sang-Hwa, might "survive" and live as an isolated being

"But Director Yeon said that when Seok Woo fell off the train, he broke his neck and died," Gong chuckled. "But I suppose since Ma Dong Seok's character is living on as a zombie, they could do a sequel from his character's perspective."

Several producers from the US and France expressed delight in doing a remake of the Korean thriller, which racked around $100 million (P4.7 billion) in a few weeks!

Sony Pictures and 20th Century Fox, as well as French film titans Gaumont, EuropaCorp and Canal Plus, are interested in producing the film's sequel.
