He claimed that his Facebook account was repeatedly suspended after the platform accused him of "impersonating a celebrity".

The Indiana bankruptcy attorney said this has happened five times over the past eight years, costing him thousands of dollars in lost business.

He pointed out that he has practised law for 38 years, a career that began when Mark E Zuckerberg, the founder of Facebook, was still a toddler.

The lawsuit, filed at the Marion Superior Court in Indianapolis, accuses Meta of breaching its contract

This claim is based on Mark S Zuckerberg having paid USD11,000 (RM46,403) for advertising, which was allegedly improperly removed from the platform.

"It's not funny. Not when they take my money," the lawyer told WTHR-TV.

"I'm Mark Steven [Zuckerberg]. And he's Mark Elliot [Zuckerberg]," he added.

Meta has confirmed that it has reinstated the lawyer's account and is taking steps to prevent similar mistakes

The lawyer said he had submitted his photo ID, credit cards, and multiple images of his face to Meta in an effort to prove his identity.

His account, which was shut down in May, was only reinstated after the lawsuit was filed.

In a statement to Quartz, Meta confirmed it had "reinstated Mark Zuckerberg's account, after finding it had been disabled in error". The company added that it appreciated his "continued patience on this issue" and was "working to try and prevent this from happening in the future".
