Malaysian Dodgeball Teams Make History By Winning Double Gold At World Championships

This is worth a celebration.

Our men's and women's dodgeball teams have struck gold at the recent World Dodgeball Championships! 😀

Dodgeball Malaysia confirmed on Facebook early this morning that the men's and women's team have won gold at this year's World Dodgeball Championships in Toronto, Canada.

**"It's official, TEAM MALAYSIA just won the WORLD CHAMPIONSHIPS 2017 FOR BOTH MENS AND WOMENS! We set a goal to be the best in the world. History has been made with a Double Gold in our hands,"** the post reads.

The women's team defended the world title they won last year by beating Australia with a score of 7-5 in the finals

The team beat Hong Kong 10-2, Mexico 11-2, but lost to USA 2-10 on Day 1. The following day, they beat Maple Leaf 8-5 and Italy 11-3 but lost to Canada 7-8 and Australia 5-8.

In the semi-finals, they beat USA 7-6.

The men's team, silver medallists in last year's meet, took home the elusive gold by beating Canada 8-6

They beat Maple Leaf 7-5, Italy 15-1, and Australia 6-5 on Day 1. The following day, they beat Mexico 9-1, Hong Kong 13-3, Canada 10-4, and USA 8-5.

They secured a spot in the finals by beating Australia 7-5 in the semis.
