The beautiful gown she wore as "National Costume" was inspired by San Agustin Church's carvings

Francis Libiran does it again with this bold "national costume" which Miss International 2016 Kylie Verzosa wore.

He designed an avant-garde piece which was inspired by the intricate carvings of San Agustin Church, the oldest church in the Philippines.

1. Her winning speech showed so much grace and intelligence which talked about diversity

"These three work together to make the brand of the Miss International beauty pageant relevant to the global community and to our time.

"If I become Miss International 2016, I will devote myself to cultural understanding and international understanding because I believe that it is with developing in each of us sensitivity to other cultures that we expand our horizons, tolerate difference, and appreciate diversity.

"All of these enable us to achieve international understanding and I believe I'm prepared to take on this responsibility. Domo arigatou gozaimasu!"

2. She graduated from Ateneo de Manila University and worked until she could pay her tuition

She graduated with a degree in BS Business Management with a minor in Marketing. She was able to pay for her own tuition fee in college, according to Phil Star.

3. She's a pre-school teacher

She loves and adores children and works as a preschool teacher at Playschool International at the Bonifacio Global City in Taguig. She's also from Baguio City

4. She's an advocate for depression and suicide awareness

She volunteered for the Natasha Goulbourn Foundation, which aims to educate people about depression and suicide.

5. It took her 2 tries to finally win Bb. Pilipinas saying that not winning "motivated" her

Her mother, Gemma Raquel Fausto was a semi-finalist in 1985.
