2 Siblings Found Dead In Each Other's Embrace After Durian Collecting Goes Awry
Police believe the children were victims of a violent murder.
Two young siblings were found dead in a tragic embrace at a durian orchard in Indonesia, with one of them reportedly discovered with a severed arm and both of them bearing multiple slash wounds
The discovery was made around 10.30pm last week, 14 May, in a ravine-like area within an orchard at Dusun Teba Langgar, in Pesisir Utara subdistrict. The victims were identified as AT, 8, and KK, 4.
According to local police, the children had asked their parents for permission to head out to the nearby orchard to collect durians earlier in the day, but never returned home.
"When they didn't come back by evening, the parents raised the alarm and villagers helped launch a search," said Pesisir Barat police chief AKBP Bestiana, as reported by Harian Metro.
Hours later, the search ended in horror when their lifeless bodies were found in the orchard.

Their bodies bore signs of multiple injuries consistent with attacks from a sharp weapon, particularly on their heads and limbs. One of the children's arms had been severed and left at the scene.
"This is clearly a homicide case. We are in the midst of collecting evidence and identifying the perpetrator," Simanjuntak said, adding that they have yet to confirm a motive for the brutal killings.
