Husband Arrested Over Death Of Woman Thrown From Moving Van On Kesas Highway
The victim was still alive when a witness found her on the highway.
Cover image via A 50-year-old man has been arrested after his wife was allegedly thrown out of a moving van and left to die along the Kesas Highway near the Awan Besar rest area on Tuesday, 6 May
Cheras district police chief ACP Aidil Bolhassan confirmed the woman's husband was arrested at a house in Taman Kinrara, Puchong, around 6pm on the same day, reported the New Straits Times.
The arrest came after a report was lodged at the Bandar Kinrara police station.
According to Aidil, the suspect admitted to being involved in the incident and said he had an argument with his wife while they were on their way home.
He also tested positive for methamphetamine, amphetamine, and benzodiazepine. The man further claimed that his wife had also been using meth.
The couple had been married for 20 years and have two children.
The case is being investigated under Section 304A of the Penal Code for causing death by negligence, which carries a prison sentence of up to 30 years and a fine.

The witness, Faizan Ahmad, 34, who was driving from Cheras to Klang at the time, said he was shocked to see the woman lying in the middle of the road, according to Harian Metro.
"The victim was still alive at the time, but she wasn't speaking. She lifted her head slightly, and I could see she was breathing and moving a little," Faizan was quoted as saying.
He said he immediately pulled over and called MERS 999 to report the incident.
"She was groaning and covered in blood," he said.
