Datuk Seri Allegedly Shoved His Pistol Into Woman's Mouth And Beat Her In Road Rage Attack
He later surrendered himself after the severely injured victim lodged a police report.
UPDATE:
A 41-year-old local businessman with a 'Datuk Seri' title has been arrested for allegedly assaulting a female driver with a pistol during a road rage incident in Penang early Sunday morning, 1 June
The man surrendered himself at the Northeast district police headquarters around 9.30am yesterday, 3 June, according to Northeast district police chief ACP Abdul Rozak Muhammad.
The incident, which took place along Jalan Kelawei in George Town, reportedly stemmed from a driving altercation between the suspect and the 28-year-old female victim, who works as a saleswoman.
During the altercation, the suspect allegedly struck the woman on her face with the handle of his gold-coloured pistol, causing severe injuries to her nose and left eye.
Beyond the physical assault, the suspect reportedly inserted the pistol into the woman's mouth in a degrading act of intimidation before repeatedly punching her with both the weapon and his fists.
Prior to the incident, the victim was on her way to Tanjung Tokong with two friends when her car veered into the middle lane
She later realised she was being followed by a black Mercedes-Benz, which eventually blocked her vehicle near a petrol station, according to Berita Harian.
The suspect then allegedly confronted and attacked her with the pistol. The woman sought treatment at Penang General Hospital before lodging a police report at 5.57pm the same day.
In her police report, she claimed her assailant was drunk.
"Police have seized a pistol, its magazine, and the man's licence for possession of the firearm and ammunition," said Rozak.
The case is being investigated under Section 326 of the Penal Code for voluntarily causing grievous hurt by dangerous weapons and Section 34 of the Arms Act 1960 for carrying a firearm while drunk.
