If you grew up in Cheras, chances are Leisure Mall was the go-to place for weekend jalan-jalan
Opened in 1995, the mall was considered a big deal for the area back then.
For many of us, it was the little escape after school or a long day at work, whether it was McDonald's for dinner, a cinema date, or going on the funfair rides that everyone loved.

Even before stepping inside, the colourful building stood out right away
The main entrance back then was hard to forget, with its wide steps and that giant signboard every Cheras kid grew up seeing.

Leisure Mall had four floors, and the shops back then looked completely different from what we see today
The signboards were simpler, but somehow felt warm and familiar.
Looking back at these old photos brings back all kinds of memories, like getting school shoes at Bata, flipping through books at Popular, or waiting for our parents at Guardian while they picked up what they needed.

Who else remembers the iconic funfair? Thinking about it now almost feels like a dream.
The funfair was massive, with a rollercoaster looping around, a carousel, merry-go-rounds, and those little coin-operated kiddie rides we used to beg our parents for.
Everything was so bright and colourful, it really felt like the happiest place in Cheras.
