Chai Wanbin, 51, was spotted at Huanglongxi Ancient Town in Chengdu during the recent Labour Day holiday.
His 88-year-old mother, who has been wheelchair-bound since a fall four years ago, was nestled into a traditional baby sling as Chai walked her through narrow, cobbled streets.

Chai, from Huidong county in Sichuan province, said he always brings both a wheelchair and a sling, depending on how accessible the route is
Although his mother lives with his sister, he often takes her travelling.
"Carrying my mother on my back is what a son should do and it is not a big deal," he said, according to South China Morning Post.
A fellow tourist, who goes by Yingzi, captured the moment and later shared it online with Chai's consent to share his filial piety towards his mother.
"I released their videos online because I want to spread this filial piety spirit around," she said.

Chai admitted that the physical toll is real
He underwent back treatment recently and often feels exhausted.
"She repeatedly asks me to put her down and take more rest," he said. Still, he hopes to take her further.
"If possible, I hope to take my mother to faraway places and see more of the world."
