Did you know that you can charter an entire train with Keretapi Tanah Melayu Berhad (KTMB) for private travel?
This service is known as KTMB's chartered train service! It allows passengers to book special train coaches for private journeys and events.
According to KTMB's website, the railway operator has been offering chartered train services for some time, featuring a variety of themed coaches designed to cater to both business and leisure needs.
Passengers can charter these coaches with friends, family, or their company for trips to destinations across Peninsular Malaysia, and even across the border to Hat Yai, Thailand.
Several different train coaches are available for charter, making them suitable for private trips, corporate events, business meetings, team-building activities, or special occasions.

One of the most exclusive options is the Saloon Coach, which is designed for up to six passengers
KTMB describes the coach as offering a modern and comfortable setting for travellers seeking a more private, first-class experience.
The coach features a master bedroom with a queen-sized bed and an en-suite bathroom, two single bedrooms, another bathroom, a dining area, a lounge space complete with karaoke facilities, and a pantry.

Besides the Saloon Coach, KTMB also offers several other themed charter coaches depending on the type of event
These include the Event Coach, which can accommodate 36 passengers, the Chillax Coach for 50 passengers, the Conference Coach for 12 passengers, and the Cafe Coach for up to 32 passengers.
According to KTMB, each coach is designed to cater to different needs and provide a unique travel experience.
"Each coach is different and caters to unique needs, making travelling across Malaysia more exciting and unforgettable. You can customise your travel time, choose from available routes, and organise activities on board," KTMB said.

According to a netizen who previously booked the Saloon Coach, a return journey from KL Sentral to Hat Yai reportedly cost around RM20,000.
For six passengers, that works out to roughly RM3,333 per person!
However, it is unclear how many days the train was chartered for, as the total cost may vary depending on the trip duration.
