Batik Boutique’s New Rimba Collection Shows How Batik Can Be Both Stylish & Versatile

Batik Boutique recently launched its brand-new Rimba Collection, showcasing just how effortlessly batik can move from casual to chic

In conjunction with Hari Kebangsaan and the upcoming Malaysia Day, the launch event was held on 3 September at the brand's flagship store in 1 Mont Kiara, giving attendees a first look at the bold new designs.

The Rimba Collection reimagines batik with contemporary prints and striking silhouettes. Each piece is handmade by local artisans, staying true to Batik Boutique's mission of supporting sustainable livelihoods while celebrating cultural heritage.

Guests also got to preview the Palma Collection, inspired by tropical palms and designed for timeless, everyday wear, as well as the Bukit Collection, one of the brand's best-sellers that's loved for its versatile and modern batik styles.

Also introduced at the event was Embrace, Batik Boutique's first cross-border collab with a Singaporean jewellery label. Symbolising unity and shared heritage, the partnership was a perfect nod to the patriotic season.

"The Rimba collection launch is an opportunity to show choosing Batik Boutique means choosing to support local artisans through celebrating modern heritage of authentic Malaysian batik.

"We want people to see how versatile batik truly is, from casual wear to formal looks, all while supporting the communities behind each piece," said Amy Blair, Founder & CEO of Batik Boutique.

A highlight of the event was the styling showcase led by Tengku Wazir, Marketing Director of Batik Boutique, who presented how to wear batik at different occasions

From resort-style looks for holidays to casualwear that's perfect for daily life, and even elevated formalwear, he demonstrated how batik is adaptable in both modern and traditional settings.

This emphasised Batik Boutique's vision of making batik accessible, stylish, and relevant to today's wardrobe while honoring its roots.

The event concluded with servings of traditional kuih, as well as coffee sponsored by Kee Nguyen, Malaysia's No. 1 Vietnamese coffee brand.
