It's official, Swifties. Taylor Swift has finally said yes to her real-life love story with NFL star Travis Kelce, and the Internet is collectively losing its mind.
The couple, both 35, announced their engagement on Instagram on 26 August with a series of photos that could easily be straight out of a Nicholas Sparks movie.
The photos show Travis on one knee in a dreamy flower garden, Tay in a pinstripe Ralph Lauren halter dress, and, of course, that ring.
The caption reads, "Your English teacher and your gym teacher are getting married 🧨"
Flashback to July 2023. Travis had tried (and failed) to give Taylor a friendship bracelet with his phone number on it during her Eras Tour stop at Arrowhead Stadium.
On his New Heights podcast later, he admitted he was "butt-hurt" about it.
But the stunt worked. Taylor eventually heard about his not-so-smooth move and thought it was "metal as hell".
They quietly started hanging out, then hard-launched their relationship a few months later when she showed up at his game, casually sitting with his mum, as one does.
Since then, they've been each other's loudest cheerleaders
Taylor showed up at multiple Chiefs games (including the Super Bowl), while Travis flew around the world to attend her record-shattering Eras Tour — even making a surprise stage cameo in London.
In between touchdowns and sold-out stadiums, the pair kept proving that yes, you can date someone equally as booked and busy, and still look like teenagers in love.
The Instagram announcement racked up over 17 million likes in less than a day
The NFL, Taylor's bestie Brittany Mahomes, and even Google (which added celebratory confetti when you searched "Taylor Swift") congratulated the couple.
Even US President Donald Trump, who once declared "I HATE TAYLOR SWIFT" on X, couldn't resist softening, telling reporters he wished them "a lot of luck".
