Cinemas nationwide are bringing back Hayao Miyazaki's 1997 film Princess Mononoke on 11 September to celebrate Studio Ghibli's 40th anniversary
If you missed watching Princess Mononoke on the big screen back in the day (or weren't even born yet), here's your chance.

Known for its stunning hand-drawn animation, deeply layered storytelling, and environmental themes, Princess Mononoke remains one of Miyazaki's most ambitious works
Even today, the visuals and score (by composer Joe Hisaishi) hit just as hard as they did nearly three decades ago.

Set in a fantastical version of Japan's Muromachi period, the film follows Ashitaka, a prince cursed by a demon boar, as he journeys to find a cure.
Along the way, he meets San — a fierce warrior raised by wolves — and becomes caught in a battle between the forest gods and humans who are encroaching on their land.

This special screening is part of mm2 Entertainment's Studio Ghibli Celebration, which will also feature exclusive giveaways, interactive zones, official limited-edition merchandise, and a lucky draw where fans can win rare Ghibli collectibles by keeping their ticket stubs.
The event's official emblem, "40 Years of Studio Ghibli", was personally penned by producer Toshio Suzuki.

The film will be screened nationwide across all major cinema exhibitors.
While cinemas have yet to release the exact showtimes and locations, the re-release is expected to be a limited run
So, keep an eye on official channels for updates.
