Writer Of Hit Drama ‘Keluarga Itu’ Says There Are No Plans For A Season Two
"I'm not the kind of person who forces a sequel just for the sake of it," she said.
The hit TV3 drama Keluarga Itu may have taken Malaysian audiences by storm, but don't expect a second season anytime soon

Erma Fatima is a Malaysian actress, director, producer, and writer. She served as the writer for 'Keluarga Itu'.
Image via @ermafatima (Instagram)Veteran director and producer Erma Fatima recently addressed the burning question on fans' minds: Will there be a sequel to Keluarga Itu?
Her answer — not unless it's going to top the original.
"As the writer and producer of Keluarga Itu, I tend to end a story once it reaches its peak. At this point, I have no intention of continuing it.
"I'm not the kind of person who forces a sequel just for the sake of it. When a story is already packed with conflict, it's hard to come up with new ones that are just as strong," she said.
She added that rushing into a second season could risk damaging the impact of the first

"If a continuation doesn't have enough compelling conflict, the story ends up feeling weak and forced.
"To me, the first season already had plenty of climactic moments. If we do a sequel, what kind of climax would we even bring in? It might end up feeling fake, like it's been forced, and it just wouldn't be sincere," she shared.
Erma also made it clear that her decision has nothing to do with money.
"If the only reason to continue is just for work or money, I'm not going to do it. If the first season was good, but the second can't match that same standard, then it's a waste of time.
"If we're going to do it, it has to be even better than the first season. If we can't top it, it's better to just stop there," she explained, making her stance clear.
For those who missed the hype, Keluarga Itu aired in the Lestary slot on TV3 earlier this year, running from February to May

The drama featured an all-star cast including Datuk Rosyam Nor, Datin Seri Umie Aida, Fattah Amin, Izara Aishah, and Puteri Balqis.
It quickly became a nationwide phenomenon, praised for its gripping storytelling and powerful performances.
