Preacher PU Haris recently revealed that his wife, celebrity and entrepreneur Neelofa, once lost a lucrative endorsement contract worth millions
Haris, whose full name is Muhammad Haris Mohd Ismail, said a major international skincare brand cancelled Neelofa's million-ringgit contract after reconsidering her position as ambassador when she began wearing the niqab, reported Kosmo.
"There was a major skincare brand from France. They said, 'Since Neelofa has started wearing the niqab, we need to reconsider whether to keep her or not as our ambassador.'
"In the end, they cancelled the contract, which was worth millions," he shared during a religious talk believed to have been held in Tawau, Sabah.
He added that if he were in her position, he might have asked the company to continue the partnership. Neelofa, however, stood firm and accepted the company's decision.

Although the brand had initially cancelled the contract, it returned a few years later with an even bigger offer
Haris explained that Neelofa's choice to continue wearing the niqab, paired with her ability to style it fashionably, gradually turned into a trend that drew the attention of the international brand once again.
"Eventually, the very same company that had dropped her returned with an offer worth several times more than before. They even requested and pleaded for Neelofa to take on the role of their ambassador," he said.
He said he shared the story to encourage Muslim women to wear modest fashion without hesitation.
