The change marks the brand's first anniversary in Malaysia and aligns with Chery's global strategy, which has seen the 'OMODA | JAECOO' branding adopted in several other countries.
According to the company's vice president Emily Lek, this rebranding reflects the company's optimism and belief in the growth potential of the Malaysian market.
She added that as a dynamic brand focused on consumer preferences, they are ready to enhance the OMODA | JAECOO brand experience, offering stylish, high-performing vehicles and a personalised lifestyle as Malaysia's challenger premium off-road SUV brand.

In its first year, JAECOO Malaysia registered over 12,000 vehicles and expanded its network to 45 dealerships nationwide. The company also introduced its Super Hybrid System (SHS) to Malaysia with the launch of the J7 PHEV earlier this year in February.
The rebranding announcement was made at the Malaysia Autoshow 2025 (MAS 2025).
Aside from the rebranding, the company also showcased their new car: the OMODA C7 Neo crossover

OMODA | JAECOO has recently highlighted its progress in efficient and sustainable mobility by showcasing its New Energy Vehicle (NEV) lineup. The SHS, which was previously introduced in Malaysia with the JAECOO J7 PHEV, aims to provide a balance of strong performance and good fuel efficiency.
OMODA | JAECOO has rigorously tested vehicles equipped with the SHS both in Malaysia and globally, consistently achieving a remarkable driving range of over 1,300km on a single full charge and a full tank of fuel. This highlights the impressive efficiency and long-distance capability of their hybrid technology.
