Beloved family-style restaurant Mum's Place is officially making a comeback in Petaling Jaya, and Malaysians couldn't be happier
The restaurant previously closed in 2021, leaving many regulars heartbroken and convinced it was the end of an era. But now, it looks like Mum's Place is ready for a fresh new chapter.
In a recent Instagram post, the iconic eatery teased:
"Some doors close. Only to open again — Mum's Place is reopening soon — stay tuned!"
Naturally, PJ's foodies collectively lost it in the comments

In a follow-up comment, the team revealed that they've moved to a new address — just about 450m from their old spot, right next to Pasta Boy in Damansara Perdana.
The official reopening date will be announced soon on the same Instagram page, so hungry Malaysians are officially on standby.
Mum's Place has long been a Petaling Jaya staple, beloved for comforting dishes that taste like home
They're best known for crowd favourites like sambal petai cencaru, sambal sotong, hearty curries, and other old-school dishes that bring together Malay, Portuguese, Nyonya, Indian, and Chinese flavours on one table.

When the restaurant closed its previous Damansara Perdana in 2021, many foodies took it as a permanent goodbye.
Now, the reopening news has everyone buzzing again, marking a revival for a restaurant that's woven itself into so many PJ food memories.
There's no official launch date yet, but Mum's Place says updates are coming very soon, so stay tuned!
