If you've driven past Rothmans Roundabout enough times, you'll remember when it was home to the old Lisa De Inn, long before the area became the busy traffic junction it is today

The spot has always been bustling, but its look has changed drastically since the early 2000s.
Lisa De Inn was reborn as Ukiyo Hotel in 2023, and as of just over a week ago, there's another reason to stop by.
A brand-new café called Rothmans Place has quietly opened its doors on the ground floor of Ukiyo Hotel, marking the latest chapter for this familiar spot.

The café had its soft launch on 25 December 2025, making it a very recent addition to the KL café scene
Step inside and you'll find a bright, calming space, complete with a wall of live plants that adds a fresh, almost garden-like feel.
Set against a large window, the café welcomes plenty of natural light without sacrificing the comfort of being indoors.

Breakfast here is all about comfort done right, including silky scrambled eggs paired with house-baked muffins, perfect if you're easing into the day or grabbing a relaxed brunch.
As lunchtime rolls around, the menu expands with a mix of local and Western favourites, from nasi kerabu to pizzas, pastas, and sandwiches.

It's a blend of old and new: a café set inside a hotel that sits on one of KL's most recognisable junctions, offering familiar flavours in a refreshed setting.
Here's where Rothman's Place is located:
G 02, Ukiyo Hotel, Jalan 17/47,
Seksyen 17, 46400 Petaling Jaya, Selangor
Opening hours
9.30am – 5pm (Monday to Wednesday)
