So here's the 'Logan' trailer that has 'X-Men' fans wondering why Wolverine doesn't seem quite like himself:

This third and final installment of the Wolverine series sees a weary Logan hiding from the world at a remote outpost on the Mexican border, where he cares for an ailing Professor X. When he meets a powerful young mutant, he is forced to come out of hiding and do whatever it takes to protect her from the dark forces intent on capturing her.

The biggest question on everyone's mind is this: How did Wolverine manage to age?

If there's one thing everyone knows about the adamantium-clawed mutant, it's his accelerated ability to heal. Also, you probably noticed that Logan seems to have visible scars on his skin, which doesn't seem to tally with his extraordinary healing powers.

A glimpse of the old Logan was first tweeted by director Mangold last October.

Director James Mangold sheds light on the mystery, explaining that the movie is inspired by the 'Old Man Logan' comic series to give fans a different Wolverine than they're used to

While Logan is capable of healing quickly, he certainly isn't ageless. Having been alive since the 1800s, Logan *does* age (although much, much slower than the average human) and is at least a few hundred years old in the new movie. It's this older side of him that Mangold aims to highlight.

Imagining a Logan whose healing powers aren't what they used to be, Mangold explains that his aging condition is the reason for the scars

Well, that's one mystery out of the way, but it's definitely not the last. Other burning questions have been popping up since the release of the trailer as well, including "Who's the girl?"

The trailer shows a young mutant girl fighting off the baddies with ease, and sharp-eyed viewers will notice that she has familiar-looking adamantium claws sticking out of her hands. Who *is* she? Is she related to Logan in some way? And if so, how?

There's only one way to put your questions to rest: Catch the movie when it comes out in cinemas this 2 March!

On another note, anyone else sad that this will be the last we'll see Hugh Jackman as Wolverine? =(
