Thankfully, it seems like director Ron Howard and rising star Alden Ehrenreich has managed to do the character justice. Plus, we've also heard nothing but good things about Donald Glover's portrayal of enigmatic fan-favourite Lando Calrissian and his scene-stealing droid sidekick, L3-37.
Given that the odds were stacked against the movie, it's actually rating a lot better than we anticipated. We can't wait to board this Millennium Falcon ride, but longtime fans of the saga should probably not expect too much.
We have to admit we were a little sceptical at first. Apart from the alleged bouts of on-set drama, the idea of an origin story seemed like a really bad idea on paper. After all, Han Solo's mysterious past was a part of his charm and learning more about him would probably take that away.
