It's been a long time coming, but the Election Commission (EC) has finally unveiled the polling date for the 14th General Elections (GE14). Come 9 May 2018, Malaysia will decide on the fate of their country.
However, the selected polling date came as a surprise to many. For one, it's mid-week on a Wednesday. Which, y'know, is a workday.
Secondly, and this is probably the most frustrating for those who managed to get tickets… 9 May is also the day of Bruno Mars' sold-out concert in Kuala Lumpur
What are the odds, right?!
While the clashing dates are not really a problem for those voting within Klang Valley…

… It's a logistical nightmare for out-of-state voters, especially for those who have already made travel plans for the concert. Some urged the organisers to reschedule the concert:
