Gamer Recreates Iconic Malaysian Landmarks In 'Minecraft'
The landmarks were painstakingly created with meticulous detail.
Photos showcasing iconic Malaysian landmarks, meticulously recreated within the popular gaming platform Minecraft, have been widely shared across Malaysian communities on Reddit
Reddit user @tovarisch_ak recently shared meticulously detailed digital recreations of several Malaysian historical landmarks.
The featured photos included the Ubudiah Mosque and its adjoining mausoleum in Kuala Kangsar, Perak; the Kuala Lumpur Library; Melaka's Victoria Fountain; and Masjid Ihsaniah Iskandariah in Padang Rengas, Perak.
The creator also shared some insights into how the landmarks were digitally recreated
The creator explained that they referred to a 1957 map of Kuala Lumpur to establish the correct scale, though the actual construction relied mostly on photographs and Google Street View.
They also noted that the models were built to an approximate 1:5 scale rather than as a true 1:1 replica. Achieving accurate proportions required extensive tweaking and constant cross-referencing with the initial map.
The post also featured Singaporean landmarks
These include prominent buildings and locations such as the John Little department store, Old City Hall, and Stamford House.
