If you grew up reading Dr Seuss, this one's for you.

Oh, the Places You'll Go! is being adapted into a full-length animated musical by Warner Bros. Pictures Animation, and it's already shaping up to be something special.

The film is being helmed by Jon M Chu, the same director behind Crazy Rich Asians, In the Heights, and the Oscar-nominated Wicked adaptation.

He'll be joined by co-director Jill Culton, known for her work on Abominable, Shrek, and Monsters, Inc.

If there's one thing we can expect, it's that this adaptation will be visually stunning and emotionally rich, so it definitely won't be just another kiddie cartoon.

Expect toe-tapping tunes from the songwriting duo behind La La Land and The Greatest Showman

According to Variety, Benj Pasek and Justin Paul  the EGOT-winning duo behind La La Land, The Greatest Showman, and Dear Evan Hansen — are writing original songs just for the film.

So, you can bet they'll bring that same Broadway-meets-Hollywood magic to Oh, the Places You'll Go!.

The movie is set to hit cinemas (and IMAX) on 17 March 2028

According to Variety, the project is a top priority for the studio, with JJ Abrams and Gregg Taylor producing under Bad Robot.

It's also being developed in partnership with Dr Seuss Enterprises to stay true to the book's original message.

For those unfamiliar, Oh, the Places You'll Go! was the final book published by Dr Seuss in 1990, just one year before his death

It's a poetic exploration of life's journey, celebrating the highs, acknowledging the lows, and gently reassuring readers that, despite it all, they'll "move mountains".

The animated adaptation will follow a young protagonist as they travel through surreal landscapes filled with joy, heartbreak, fear, and hope — all with that signature Seussian touch.

No voice cast has been announced yet, but we're hoping for a few surprises. Maybe a cameo or two from Chu's usual crew?
