"Same Age As My Father" — Actress Recalls Being Offered To Become A Datuk's 3rd Wife

The 28-year-old, who was actively competing in beauty pageants before transitioning into acting, revealed that the incident took place about six years ago, at the height of her pageant career, reported the New Straits Times.
"Before I ventured into acting, I was heavily involved in beauty pageants," Amy recalled.
"The expenses associated with competing abroad were substantial, so I sought sponsorship from a corporate entity," she said, without naming the company.
That search for financial backing led her to a man with a 'Datuk' title who offered to sponsor her, but with strings attached: she would have to become his third wife.
"He also offered other material comforts, including a house.
"My mother's response was firm: she wasn't about to sell me off," she shared.

Amy pointed out the stark age difference between them
"The man was the same age as my father! Anyone driven solely by financial gain would have accepted such an offer," she said, adding that she had no intention of accepting it.
"I would rather work day and night to find halal revenue because I was supporting my family."
Despite the inappropriate proposal, Amy stood her ground and refused to compromise her principles. In 2019, she was crowned Miss Eco International in Egypt, a title that later became her springboard into acting.
Though her entry into the entertainment industry was almost accidental, she's now focused on building a name for herself through talent.
"I want to move beyond the image of a beauty queen. I want people to recognise me as a versatile actress, not just a pretty face," she said.
