3 M’sian Acts Win Big At Los Angeles Music Awards Including Sabahan Band Tuni Sundatang

Malaysia made its mark on the global stage as three local artistes took home top honours at the prestigious 2025 InterContinental Music Awards in Los Angeles, California

Among the standout winners was Sabahan folk-rock band Tuni Sundatang, whose music pays homage to the Dusun culture, reported Daily Express Malaysia.

Their song, Highlanders, earned them the award for Best in Asia (Asian Folk), highlighting the richness of Malaysian heritage to an international audience.

Aside from Tuni Sundatang, award-winning singer-songwriter and Grammy Voting Member Heerraa also clinched Best in North America (Folk) for Love Wins. The track, produced in collaboration with Nashville-based producer Justine Blazer, further underlined her versatility and growing international presence.

Meanwhile, Edward Kee, pianist and new age composer, added to Malaysia's sweep with Best in Pangea (New Age) for his soaring composition Rise Up.
