Police Confirm Woman Found Dead After Being Thrown From Van On Highway Is Not Pamela Ling

The victim was from Menglembu, Ipoh.

A 44-year-old woman, who was found dead along the Kesas Highway after allegedly being thrown out of a moving van, has been confirmed not to be the missing Datin Seri Pamela Ling Yueh

Cheras district police chief ACP Aidil Bolhassan said police were alerted to the incident at 2.58pm on Tuesday, 6 May via a call to the MERS 999 emergency line from a witness who claimed to have seen the victim ejected from the van near the Awan Besar rest area, reported the New Straits Times.

"The van fled the scene. Medical personnel from UKM Medical Centre arrived shortly after and confirmed the victim had died at the location," he said in a statement.

"I can confirm that [the victim] is not the missing 'Pamela Ling'," The Star quoted Aidil as saying.

According to the police, while the victim has been identified, her name is being withheld pending notification of her next of kin

Aidil added that investigations are ongoing and the case has yet to be classified.

A post-mortem will be carried out to determine the cause of death.

It is understood that the woman was from Menglembu, Ipoh.

Ling, who was last seen on 9 April, was reportedly abducted while en route to the MACC headquarters in Putrajaya for a scheduled meeting:
